We thought it would be fun to bring back our 20 questions blog post with the new artists at the shop. Juju has recently moved to wellington after working in Melbourne for three years. A self confessed canterbury farm girl at heart she loves the outdoors and connection to nature, so here is 2o questions with Juju
1. How Long have you been tattooing?
I think about nine years.
2. How old were you when you got your first tattoo?
I was 19 and Dad tried to bribe me out of getting it.
3. Where did you get it?
On my wrist.
4. What’s your favourite style to tattoo?
Just how I draw! I don’t think it needs a name…..seems too limiting haha it just evolves or changes to mood and the people I’m collaborating with and inspired by.
5. Who are your favourite tattoo artists?
People that I’ve been lucky enough to befriend and work alongside mostly, nothing like being around amazing people who inspire you emotionally and artistically!
6. Who are your favourite artists?
Vali Myers, Henry Darger, Aubrey Beardsley, like wow so many, those are the first ones that come to my mind though
7. What’s your favourite thing about working at Union?
So far it’s being made to feel so welcomed and it’s friendly and easy and non hierarchal. I value open and honest relationships so much
8. What’s the most common question you get asked everyday?
How are you?
9. Who do you look up to?
All of my close friends. anyone taller than me. my big sister and anyone with a kind heart and hand to follow.
10.How do you stay inspired?
I don’t always! It ebbs and flows. Sometimes i just gotta exist and be.
11.What’s your favourite brunch spot in wellington?
I haven’t been here long enough to know! I like coffee for brunch.
12. What are your favourite things to do on a day off?
Lie around, drink coffee, people watch, talk to strangers, tell friends I love them, look at cool stuff, make things, smile, complain, think way too much, eat food, read fantasy novels and dream.
13. What’s you favourite movie?
I know these are supposed to be straight forward questions but I take it way too seriously! today I will say La Cité des Enfants Perdue’ and LOTR so what!!!??
14. Favourite book?
At the moment I’m reading the wheel of time series By Robert Jordan and Brandon Sandersons mistborn series. I read fancy stuff too but…..
15. Favourite Album?
The Cure 17seconds and Leonard Cohens New skin for the old ceremony (VERY HARD QUESTION)
16. Pineapple on or off pizza?
Depends on the pizza, I’m not too fussy.
17. Are you a cat or dog person?
A llama person
18.Long black or flat white?
19.Indian curry or thai curry?
Any curry! yum curry!
20. What would your last meal be if you were on death row?
I love bread and I hate the prison system.

There are many questions you may have about getting tattooed, especially if it’s your first time, so in this blog post we will try to answer as many as possible, so you know what to expect on the day.
